Growth Begins with Being Seen

People sometimes ask why I became a therapist after spending more than twenty years as a scientist, educator, and federal leader.

The answer grew from an unexpected place.

As I sat with people through addiction, loss, anxiety, relationship struggles, and life's uncertainties, I began to recognize parts of my own story in theirs. Not the circumstances themselves, but the longing to be understood, accepted, and accompanied through difficult moments.

That recognition awakened something in me. I realized how meaningful it can be to have someone who truly resonates with your experience—not to solve your life for you, but to walk beside you as you discover your own way forward.

That is the practice I hope to offer.

Whether through therapy or coaching, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, where your strengths are honored alongside your struggles, and where growth unfolds through compassion, curiosity, and connection.
